Grace's Chemo Crushers

My name is Grace Disney, and I am a cancer survivor

On my tenth birthday I was dianosed with an extremely rare blood cancer. I've attached a photo from that day, of me with my two brothers, who were 11 and 7 at the time. We were confused and heartbroken, trying to pretend like it was a normal birthday.

Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia is an aggressive subtype of AML, typically found in adults. It took groundbreaking, recent treatments to cure my illness. In the past, my type of cancer would normally take minimum 2.5-3 years of chemotherapy to be in remission, if treatments were successful. Thanks to improvments in research, I only went through just about a year of chemotherapy. My story is a perfect example of how funding can go so far. When we band together, small amounts can save lives like mine. Even spreading the word can help change the future of fighting cancer as we know it! Help kids like me have better chances.
