As 1/4th of the commissioners for HK Relay for Life, I am proud to be part of making an impact for those that we love, those we have lost, and those we continue to fight for 

I relay for making that change in people's lives, so hopefully one day we can exist in a world where cancer doesn't exist .

My mom lost her best friend, Lori, back in September 2021. She was going through chemo after being in remission for years when she caught Covid-19. She fought for almost two months against it, but lost her life to it. I relay so that no one ever has to go through that again, no family, no friends, no children, no-one. I'm honoured to be one of the commissioners this year, and proud I get to carry on a journey she never got to finish, not just for her family or my mother, but for myself as well. 

With nearly half of Canadians expected to be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime, I’m more determined than ever to help change the future of this disease. My family and friends could be affected and that makes it personal. 

Please help me reach my fundraising goal for Relay For Life.  It doesn’t matter how small the step, it makes a difference. Not only for those living with cancer now, but for those remembering and honouring those we’ve lost.  A donation of $25, $50 or $100 could help make sure a team of researchers has the resources they need to make a life-saving discovery or a patient has access to support services when they need it most.
