With nearly half of Canadians expected to be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime, I’m more determined than ever to help change the future of this disease. This goal is personal as I have seen many loved ones in my family suffer the effects of multiple forms of cancer. Just like me, it is possible many of you have or will encounter similar events and there is nothing worse than wanting to help but not knowing what to do. This is a first step in helping! For years I wished there was something I could do to make a change or impact on the effects of cancer and finding relay for life has been a great way of completing this.  

Although it seems small, helping me and my girls reach our goal will provide an impact in the cancer society. It doesn’t matter how small the step, it makes a difference. Not only for those living with cancer now, but for those remembering and honouring those we’ve lost.  A donation of $25, $50 or $100 could help make sure a team of researchers has the resources they need to make a life-saving discovery. It could even ensure a patient has access to support services when they need it most.
