Why I Am Fundraising for Cancer

I am fundraising for my Nanny, who is a cancer survivor. In 2022, my Nanny was diagnosed with breast cancer. She had to undergo surgeries and radiation treatments. Even now, she takes daily medication to help keep her cancer from coming back, which she tells us is very challenging. My brother and I help her with tasks around her house whenever we can.

Who I Am Fundraising For

Today, I am raising money for cancer research and support, and I will be cheering on my Nanny on June 3rd as she walks with other survivors at Brooklin High School. My goal is to raise $500.

Why This Cause Matters to Me

With nearly half of Canadians expected to be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime, I’m more determined than ever to help change the future of this disease. My family and friends could be affected, and that makes it personal.
