With nearly half of Canadians expected to be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime, Ethan and I are more determined than ever to help change the future of this disease. We have had several family and friends that have been affected. And that makes it personal.  While we have been fortunate to have family like Grandma Grace, Papa Glenn and Aunt Dene that are cancer survivors due to the advances in cancer screening and treatments, we have also had losses (Grandma Lily and Papa Eric).  Just over 3 years ago,  we lost a young friend named Lucas.  Lucas was diagnosed with cancer in July 2021 but sadly, this young superhero fought his final battle on December 30, 2021.  Not all cancer treatments are the same, nor is it once size fits all for similar types of cancer.  There is still much work to do! 

This year's event theme is Tropical Wave, all relay teams will be named after Tropical Fruits and Activities to join our committee to "Be the WAVE, WASH cancer away!"
