I relay for my Grammy. In November of 2022 my Grammy was diagnosed with stage four lung cancer, due to second hand smoke. This was nothing that my family could see coming, as she was happy, healthy and only 75 years old. After months of tests, from her amazing team of doctors, nurses and support staff, they identified a potential medicine that could help improve her quality of life. Since then, she has been taking her targeted therapy medicine twice every day, when her alarm goes off to “What Doesn’t Kill You Makes You Stronger” and we are happy to know her health is stabilized. She is back to walking her 10,000 steps every day, and is making every single member of my family proud as she battles her cancer. Although she won’t ever be cured from cancer, she is a survivor because she has proven just how strong and resilient she truly is. I relay for her, my Aunt Kara, and all of the other families who have loved ones battling cancer.
