As you may know, my family received shocking news when we learned that Jenn was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year. We knew cancer was all around us but it changes your world when it hits home. Jenn has undergone major surgery to remove lymphnodes in her armpit as well as a good portion of her tricep. She is currently doing immunotherapy treatment for the next year. We are super thankful to all our doctors, friends and family for their support and prayers. We could not walk this journey alone.

Without knowing Jenns situation at the time, my leadership class agreed to help organize and run our school Relay for Life event. It has been amazing to watch these leaders rally around my family and a cause that is important to so many of us. Nearly half of Canadians expected to be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime, I’m more determined than ever to help change the future of this disease. My family and friends are and could be affected. And that makes it personal.
