In 2019 I went to a regular checkup with my nurse practitioner. A week later I was told I had an abnormal result. I was not to worry, this happened all the time.

A few weeks and many tests and procedures later, I was sent to see an oncologist and was diagnosed with cervical cancer. I had a radical hysterectomy and six weeks later had 25 days of radiation with mild chemotherapy once a week for five weeks.

I am happy to say I have now been cancer free for almost 5 years!

Thank you to everyone who supports the Canadian Cancer Society because they support all of the people and programs that helped me.
