Cancer is really scary and nearly everyone is affected by it. My grandparents, father, uncle, close friends and other family members have had cancer. Some have conquered it, but sadly, some have passed away.

Cancer remains one of the leading causes of death in Canada and I’m more determined than ever to help change the future of this disease. More of my family and friends could be affected, including myself. If I can do something to prevent this or help those suffering be more comfortable with their treatment, then I will.

To this end, I am helping raise money towards cancer research. My leadership class at Philip Pocock is organizing a Relay for Life, an event led by the Canadian Cancer Society. No matter how much you donate, every dollar goes a long way. A donation of $10, $25, $50 or $100 could help ensure a team of researchers has the resources they need to make a life-changing discovery.
