The FIRST Relay!

I am happy to be joining CSS in celebration of our 20th anniversary of Relay for Life! I was part of the first one (see my fundraising picture) and this will be my last, as I am retiring this year.

Why Relay? See my profile photo. In that picture, I am doing the survivor lap with my Mom. My Mom passed away in 2020 after a long battle with breast cancer. I lost my sister in 2014 to leukemia. My father and I have also had our own personal battles with cancer. So… EVERYONE in my family has had cancer, and it has resulted in the loss of half of us.

I particpate for my family and for all of us… because statistically speaking, even if we don’t get cancer ourselves, we will all be affected.
