Why do I relay?

I relay for my great-grandmother. She expeienced kidney, breast, lymphnodes and bone cancer in her lifetime. She unfortunatly lost her battle to bone cancer once it spread throughout her body. After surviving breastcancer, my great-grandmother devoded her time to the Canadian Cancer Services to help others who are experiencing what she went through. Growing up, I watched her promote this cause and encourage everyone around her to help make a change. When she passed, I knew that I was ready to continue on this legacy and continue to make a difference in the CCS. 

My passion grew for relay when they discontinued the event in my hometown. As someone who looked forward to the event every year, I was quite furious about us loosing the event. Once I came to Carleton and I learned about the event they hosted, I knew that I was going to take it on to continue and spread the word about cancer so I can continue my great-grandmothers legacy.
