When I was 7 years old, my grandma was diagnosed with colorectal cancer. I still remember those moments when my grandma would always suprise my sister and I with chocolate whenever we would visit her house. I still remember those times when my grandma would tie our hair with a Cailou or My Little Pony Clip, and I remember how much she really really loved my sister and I. No matter what, my grandma made sure to always be there for us, and to accompany us whenever my parents were working. I truly miss my grandma. I hope that I can honour her through this. 

With nearly half of Canadians expected to be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime, I’m more determined than ever to help change the future of this disease. My family and friends could be affected and that makes it personal.
