Hello Everyone, I am so excited you've found my page!

My name is Colleen McKee, and as many of you likely know, I have developed a great passion for changing the future regarding cancer research and treatments over the past few years. I have had the privilege to be a part of the Cops 4 Cancer campaign at my high school,in which I was lucky enough to co-campaign lead in my 4th and final year. After moving to Kelowna in September of 2022, I was so excited to find out there was a Relay for Life Campaign at UBCO! Having the opportunity to continue my passion at university is something I feel incredibly grateful for. After participating in Relay last year as a team member last spring, I knew that I wanted to become a committee member as soon as possible, which is why I’m over the moon to be this year's co-recruitment chair! I also have the honour of being the team captain of "Colleen McKee's Team (oh yeah)" for this years Relay, so please feel free to check out my team page too. Being able to recruit all different students at UBCO is such a fulfilling role, and opens doors to many new friendships along the way.

I am well aware that for most of you reading this, you’re well aware as to why this campaign is so near and dear to my heart, but if you're new here, thank you and this is my story!

In July of 2017, my dad Erin McKee was diagnosed with stage 4 pleomorphic sarcoma cancer. At the age of 12, I had no idea how much my dads diagnosis would change my life. In October of 2017, my dad sadly lost his battle, and left my middle school self motivated to make a difference. Ever since then, I have wanted to help limit the number of families experiencing similar situations to my own. Campaigns like Cops 4 Cancer and Relay for Life became a huge part of my everyday life, as I want to help give back to the many survivors, and those who have sadly lost their battles.
