Over 200 000 Canadians received cancer diagnoses in 2022, and over 80 000 of them passed away from the disease. Everyone is affected by cancer; it is predicted that close to half of Canadians will receive a diagnosis at some point in their lives. Like many other Canadians, I have had family members who have lost their battle to cancer.
