With nearly half of Canadians expected to be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime, I’m more determined than ever to help change the future of this disease. My partner was diagnosed with testicular cancer in November of 2021. After having an orchiectomy we found out the cancer had spread to his Lymph Nodes, which forced him to go through intense chemotherapy.

Even though I come from a family where cancer has claimed several of my loved ones, hearing his diagnosis changed our life. I was beyond scared and felt helpless, there was nothing I could do except hope that he was strong enough. I am so thankful that my partner was strong enough to beat cancer, and my goal is for everyone who gets diagnosed to beat this disease. I am so proud of all the work he is doing to advocate and raise awareness for testicular cancer and I am excited to be part of this journey.

Cancer has claimed so many lives and we all need to come together to help find a cure so no one ever has to lose their battle. It is my goal that in raising money for Relay for Life, I will be able to contribute to cancer treatments as well as awareness for all cancers, especially ones that are not often talked about such as testicular cancer.
