In February 2019 my nanny was diagnosed with stage four colon cancer. This was a major shock to her family and friends as she lived a healthy lifestyle. She enjoyed her outdoor walks and swimming exercise classes at the YMCA. She was always on the go and involved in many community activities such as the church.

I remember when I first received the news, I was in my first year of Univeristy and living 4 and a half hours away. I felt overwhelmed and in shock, it did not make sense as to why this happened and I even felt a little angry at the world.

I am relaying this year in her memory as she passed in May of 2019.
