With nearly half of Canadians expected to be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime, I’m more determined than ever to help change the future of this disease. My family and friends have already been affected. And that makes it personal.

Personally, my mom was diagnosed with cancer during the summer of 2021 – just 3 years ago. Thanks to multiple tests, scans, scopes, cancer research and a skilled medical team, she successfully made it through 4 intense surgeries and 3 lengthy hospital stays. During this process, she lost her bowel and her bladder, which has been exceptionally difficult and life altering. I’m extremely grateful to share, however, that she is currently cancer free! This year, I relay for my mom, an incredibly strong and resilient woman - my personal hero!! I am also relaying for friends and family members who are currently battling cancer.
