Cancer is something that has been all around me for so long, touching not just one but several people close to my heart. My nana, aunt, cousin, close friends, and even coworkers have felt its impact, leaving a lasting imprint on me. Just this past winter, Mrs. Reed, a woman who was very impactful in my childhood, lost her fight to cancer.  The statistics are sobering, with nearly half of Canadians expected to face this relentless disease in their lifetime. It's a harsh reality that has fueled my determination to make a difference. Cancer isn't just a distant cause for me; it's deeply personal.

This year, I am taking action by organizing the Relay for Life at my school. Alongside a remarkable group of students, we are gearing up to walk for 12 hours straight on June 7th, all in support of the Canadian Cancer Society. Our passion for this cause is evident, fueled by the collective desire to make a change, no matter how small.
