Nearly 1 in 2 Canadians are expected to be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime, meaning half of our family and friends will hear the words "you have cancer".
In May 2012, I heard those words.
I was diagnosed with a high grade Adenocarcinoma of the colon, it was invasive on the right hemicolon, and attached to my bladder. I underwent a hemicolectomy which removed 1/3rd of my bowel.
Six weeks after my surgery, I started the first of twelve cycles of chemotherapy.
Having cancer changes so many aspects of your life, and reminds you how precious life really is,! I’m now seven years cancer free and I thank God every day for my second chance!
Please support me, our team "The Lanterns of Hope", and The Burin Peninsula Relay for Life happening on August 15,2020 by donating to this worthy cause that helped save my life.
Thank you in advance!
