I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in 2019. With the support of excellent health care at the SSRH and Dickson Centre and the support of family and friends, I beat cancer and joined the ranks of "Cancer Surviviors". Throughout my healing journey, I was surrounded by many angels on the South Shore. They supported me and walked beside me as I underwent surgery, chemotheraphy and radiation.
Nearly 1 in 2 Canadians are expected to be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. That means half of our family and friends will hear the words “you have cancer” at some point in their lives. Join me in taking action to help create a world where no Canadian has to fear this disease.
I’m determined, along with Team Angels to make a difference by participating in the Canadian Cancer Society Relay For Life. This is a nationwide event that brings people together to celebrate survivors, honour those we’ve lost and show that no one has to face cancer alone. By making a donation, you can help fund Canada’s most promising research, vital support services for patients and their families, and other important work that could change the future of cancer.
I hope you’ll show your support, and help me and Team Angels to reach our fundraising goal.
Thank you to everyone who participated in Relay At Home - it was a huge success! If you were unable to take part in the live event or if you want to relive the Relay magic, you can still watch it on Facebook. Our website will be accepting online donations until August 13. Keep fundraising to support the thousands of Canadians facing cancer during this time. Thank you for your support of the Canadian Cancer Society.
