Nearly half of Canadians are expected to be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. That means almost half of our family and friends will hear the words “you have cancer” at some point in their lives.
This has been true for a large number of my family and friends already. I get scared wondering "whose next?"
I’m determined to make a difference by participating in the Canadian Cancer Society Relay For Life. This is a nationwide event that brings people together to celebrate survivors, honor those we’ve lost and show that no one has to face cancer alone.
I chose Relay for Life because by making a donation, you improve the lives of all those affected by cancer through world-class research, transformative advocacy and compassionate support.
I've seen the difference support can make to those in the midst of it. It's why I want to raise money for this cause.
For those I care for that lost, survived, and are currently at battle: Josh, Sarah, Grammy, Clarence, Andy, Angie, Sandy, Nancy, Penny. And those whose battles are yet to come.
