Nearly 1 in 2 Canadians are expected to be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. That means half of our family and friends will hear the words “you have cancer” at some point in their lives. Join me in taking action to help create a world where no Canadian has to fear this disease.
I’m determined to make a difference by participating in the Canadian Cancer Society Relay For Life. This is a nationwide event that brings people together to celebrate survivors, honour those we’ve lost and show that no one has to face cancer alone. By making a donation, you can help fund Canada’s most promising research, vital support services for patients and their families, and other important work that could change the future of cancer.
Relay has been a big part of my life, for as long as I can remember, participating in my first ever event during my high school days. Years later, when I returned home for good, I got involved as a Volunteer and then a Committee Member with Relay For Life Amherst, having had the privilege of Chairing the Event since 2016.
Like so many, cancer has touched my life and my heart in so many ways. Participating in Relay for Life is the best way I know how to connect with both the loss of those who are no longer with us, and the hope of showing those affected by cancer that they are not alone.
If you are able, please consider giving anything you can. Together, we are bigger than cancer.
Thank you!
