Nearly everyone has been affected by cancer in one way or another. For some, you may be suffering directly from the disease, you may have to deal with the mental toll of having an acquintance or loved one who is dealing with, or you may be dealing with a loss of someone you know caused by it.
Personally, I'm relaying for my mother, Ann McGuirk, who was diagnosed with Metaplastic breast cancer back in 2018, and passed away in the summer of 2020. Metaplastic breast cancer is a type of cancer which affects less than 1% of breast cancer patients. This also means that there has not been much research done on it, and the survival rate reflects that. The general survival rate of breast cancer is 89-91%, while metaplastic is 55%.
This is why I am asking for you to donate money to the Canadian Cancer Soicety so that they can continue their research on lesser known variants of cancer such as this one in order to help those in need. Come join us and show people that as a community, we are bigger than cancer!
Thank you,
Liam-Michael McGuirk
