If youve found your way over to this page, then I am sorry that you are someone who has had to deal with cancer. I'm here for you and by you finding this page means that there are plenty of us on your team.
I was first exposed to cancer as a kid when my grandfather passed away. Later on in life I would volunteer in hospitals throughout high school, including a summer in the oncology ward at Sick Kids. It was perhaps the most rewarding summer I've ever experienced to play with the kids I formed bonds with, Victoria and Lily and all their families and friends.
Now that I'm even older, cancer rears it's torturous head and all of my aunt, my best friend, and my mom have been diagnosed.
My aunt was always so witty and loved me with all her heart.
My best friend is the most badass person in the world with the kindest soul.
My mom raised me singlehandedly and she has been my rock and my guidance for my entire life.
I donate, run, raise and do everything for those who fight this battle. Those who are kids, parents, sibling, friends, and stars on our rock of a planet deserve to know 100% of the time that they are loved. They have earned our respect and our devotion, if they are 62 years young or 2 years old. And if you are a person supporting someone with cancer, you deserve to know that you are loved too, cancer affects everyone and I've seen some really strong families create the most jovial of support systems, but if you have found your way onto this webpage, you know that nothing is ever easy when cancer gets involved.
