On June 6, my Burns & Wilcox Canada colleagues and I will be participating in the Toronto 2024 WICC Ontario Relay for Life.
Nearly half of Canadians are expected to be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. That means almost half of our family and friends will hear the words “you have cancer” at some point in their lives.
In 2021, my dad was diagnosed with colorectal cancer. We were lucky to catch it early and after a series of radiation, chemo, surgery, and colostomy, Dad is in remission. We were able to celebrate on the other side of cancer at my wedding this past September - dancing the night away!
But not all families are this lucky. I’m determined to make a difference in a small way by participating in the WICC Ontario Relay For Life. I relay for better care and support for those fighting, for more happy endings to cancer diagnoses, and eventually, for a cure!
If you have the means, please consider donating to show your support, and help me reach my fundraising goal!
