Nearly half of Canadians are expected to be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. That means almost half of our family and friends will hear the words “you have cancer” at some point in their lives. Join me in taking action to help give people with cancer the help and support they need to lead more fulfilling lives.
My journey started in March 2023, in a semi lucid moment during my colonoscopy...the Dr. said….’I think you have cancer’….my life changed in an instant.
A week later the biopsy came back. Cancer. A CT scan and surgical consult confirmed surgery was required. Following surgery, I started chemotherapy in late May concluding in August. My journey continues and I will be on active surveillance for the next 5 years. I have far too many blessings to count. Blessed by a top-notch health care team including my Primary Care Physician, Gastroenterologist, Surgeon, Oncologist, and Cancer Care Team who gave me the best opportunity to fight this dreaded disease. Blessed by my lovely wife, family, and friends who stand with me every day. And blessed by my Northbridge family who continue to support me on my journey.
I’m determined to make a difference by participating in the Canadian Cancer Society Relay For Life. This is a nationwide event that brings people together to celebrate survivors, honor those we’ve lost and show that no one has to face cancer alone. By making a donation, you improve the lives of all those affected by cancer through world-class research, transformative advocacy and compassionate support.
I hope you’ll show your support, and help me reach my fundraising goal.
Thank you!I
