Nearly half of Canadians are expected to be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. That means almost half of our family and friends will hear the words “you have cancer” at some point in their lives. Unfortunately, my 4 grandparents died of cancer. And in 2018, my dad defeated prostate cancer.
This is what happened to me in April 2020:
I was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer. Despite the pandemic, I went through surgeries and radiotherapy. Though I am on complete remission, I am on hormonotherapy for the next 10 years with regular medical appointments and testing. I am a warrior. I am a survivor.
Join me in taking action to help create a world where no Canadian has to fear this disease. I’m determined to make a difference by participating in the Canadian Cancer Society Relay For Life. This is a nationwide event that brings people together to celebrate survivors, honour those we’ve lost and show that no one has to face cancer alone. By making a donation, you can help fund Canada’s most promising research, vital support services for patients and their families, and other important work that could change the future of cancer.
I hope you’ll show your support, and help me reach my fundraising goal.
Thank you!
Sylvia
