I got involved in Relay for Life after losing my mother to cancer. To watch anyone, especially someone who you love so dearly, experience the trauma of a terrible disease like cancer is too awful to fully describe in words. It a pain I wish nobody had to endure.
Now I relay not just in memory of my mother and other family members such as aunts, uncles, cousins, in laws, but also for my friends and their lost loved ones.
I Relay in Hope for remission and survival of cancer patients. I Relay to raise money to help transport patients through Wheels of Hope to medical care that they could not access otherwise. I Relay to raise funds for research and a possible cure. I Relay to encourage others to join the action and to never, ever give up.
Nearly half of Canadians are expected to be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. That means almost half of our family and friends will hear the words “you have cancer” at some point in their lives. Join me in taking action to help create a world where no Canadian has to fear this disease.
I’m determined to make a difference by participating in the Canadian Cancer Society Relay For Life. This is a nationwide event that brings people together to celebrate survivors, honour those we’ve lost and show that no one has to face cancer alone. By making a donation, you can help fund Canada’s most promising research, vital support services for patients and their families, and other important work that could change the future of cancer.
I hope you’ll show your support, and help me reach my fundraising goal.
Thank you!
