My father was a strong man who brushed off any injury or illness, always saying it is nothing. He was diagnosed with cancer when he was 49 and his life was changed in a heartbeat and so was ours.
Over the next 3 years he had two major surgeries and multiple chemo treatments in the hopes that it would be cured. His second surgery was done in February of 1982 and he was able to walk me down the aisle for my wedding. One month later he found out his cancer had returned and chose not to have any further surgeries. One year after that he died at the age of 52.
The man that never complained about illness or pain, finally had admitted that it hurt a little, still remaining strong for us.
Please help me fight this disease by donating to my Relay for Life in memory of that strong man.
Thank you,
Darlene
