Like many others cancer has effected my life and I have lost people in my life to cancer and seen many others fight cancer. It is the worst thing to witness and I can't begin to imagian what it is like to experiance. When I was very little, I lost my great papa to cancer and also watched one of my grandmas fight cancer. While I was in elementary school I lost one of my papa's to cancer. While I was in highschool I lost my uncle to cancer and also watched one of my dads fight cancer. June of 2022 I lost another one of my papa's to cancer. A man who was always there for me. In October of 2022 I lost a family friend, Claire to Cancer. A women who was kind to everyone and who has been a huge part of our lives. Loosing all of these people to cancer makes me more and more determined to make a difference. I am participating to help honour those people who fought and those people who are still fighting.
I’m determined to make a difference by participating in the Canadian Cancer Society Relay For Life. This is a nationwide event that brings people together to celebrate survivors, honor those we’ve lost and show that no one has to face cancer alone. By making a donation, you improve the lives of all those affected by cancer through world-class research, transformative advocacy and compassionate support.
Together my aunt and other friends and family will be gathering in a relay for life event to honour those people and also help raise money to put an end to cancer. Knowing how much this disease has taken from me, as well as so many others, I want to walk and raise money to help people battle this once and for all!
Nearly half of Canadians are expected to be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. That means almost half of our family and friends will hear the words “you have cancer” at some point in their lives. Join me in taking action to help give people with cancer the help and support they need to lead more fulfilling lives. I hope you’ll show your support, and help me reach my fundraising goal.
Thank you!
