It is Rays of Hope 18th anniversary, participating in the Relay for Life.
My brother Raymond was diagnosed with lung cancer and passed away in 2006, 3 months following his 50th birthday. He was way too young to go.

My brother Brendan faced cancer twice and beat it. It was his 3rd Cancer journey (kidney) that sadly took him from us January 30, 2024. He handled his cancer journeys with strength, courage and, as anyone who knew him, with a good dose of humour. The world lost a good guy... But we were all lucky to have had him for the time that we did.
My good friend, Carol, a member of Rays of Hope, faced a cancer diagnosis. I am so thankful for her recovery, following treatment. Another member of Rays of Hope, Donna Hudson, is again dealing with some health concerns, prayers for her return to good health. She is so strong, so lovely and also has a wonderful sense of humour.
My sister-in-law, Kelly lost her mother, Sharon, in 2019 after a courageous battle. Sharon was one of the loveliest ladies...such a pleasure to have gotten to know her. She is missed.
My friend Pat lost her parents Teresa and Dan, ...they were lovely warm people who enjoyed having family and friends together. They are missed.
These loved ones handled themselves with grace, dignity, courage and strength. They ARE my HEROS! And to everyone who has faced a cancer journey... I may not know you personally, however please know you are not alone!
Nearly 1 in 2 Canadians are expected to be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. That means half of our family and friends will hear the words “you have cancer” at some point in their lives. Join me in taking action to help create a world where no Canadian has to fear this disease.
By making a donation, you can help fund Canada’s most promising research, vital support services for patients and their families, and other important work that could change the future of cancer.
I hope you’ll show your support, and help me reach my fundraising goal.
Cancer changes everything. So can you!!!
Thank you!
