Nearly half of Canadians are expected to be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. That means almost half of our family and friends will hear the words “you have cancer” at some point in their lives. These numbers are real. My family is a prime example. Out of 7 children, four have had cancer, as well as both parents. Yes, it's real.
As most of you know, I Iam a breast cancer survivor since I heard those words 12 years ago. I know the uncertainty, the fear, the pain, the worry and the feelings that you can't quite describe. Cancer affects your family, your friends, and consumes your whole life.
Months after I completed my radiation treatments I walked in my first Relay for Life with two of my sisters (also breast cancer survivors) and vowed to continue to relay as long as my legs will carry me. This will be my 12th Relay for Life.
I’m determined to make a difference by participating in the Canadian Cancer Society Relay For Life. I relay for my grandchildren so they will never hear the words "You have cancer"
By making a donation, you improve the lives of all those affected by cancer through world-class research, transformative advocacy and compassionate support.
I hope you’ll show your support, and help me reach my fundraising goal.
A sincere thank you for reading my story and helping my achieve my goal one dollar at a time.
No one fights alone
