"Howdy,"

Team "Basically, F*ck Cancer" brings together members of the SkuleTM community as well as friends across the country to fundraise in loving memory of our dear friend Leigh. Leigh bravely battled pancreatic cancer for 5 years, while completing her Chemical Engineering degree, working towards a Masters degree, and of course making her artwork. She passed on May 19, 2023 at 25 years old.  

Although Relay for Life is rightly focused on cancer, our team also wants to celebrate everything Leigh was outside of cancer: her ability to bring people together, her selfless desire to make life easier for others, her wicked sense of humour, her notorious lactose intolerance... She was a reader, a runner, an artist, a musician, a Lord of the Rings enthusiast, a passionate graphic designer, and a gluten free Baker. 

Leigh raised funds for the Canadian Cancer Society while undergoing treatment, so this initiative feels like a fitting continuation of her legacy. Thank you so much to everyone who has donated.

Everyone on our team has their own reasons for participating in the Canadian Cancer Society Relay For Life, but one thing unites us all: a belief that we can create a world where no one fears cancer.
