Like many others, I can name multiple friends and family members who have had their lives marked by a cancer diagnosis. My grandpa is the first that comes to mind as well as both of my in-laws, each of whom aren't with us anymore. We miss them, we frequently think how much we wish our daughters could know these people who were so important in our lives. Our best way forward is to honour them by living hopefully, by loving our community, by committing to hard work and not wasting what we have. It is for these people that I am excited to be part of Team Bear's 24-hour Relay for Life. My goal is to run 2k each hour for 24hrs. I hope you'll join me in support and/or by coming by to give a high five & a nudge to move a bit faster ;)
I’m determined to make a difference by participating in the Canadian Cancer Society Relay For Life. This is a nationwide event that brings people together to celebrate survivors, honour those we’ve lost and show that no one has to face cancer alone. By making a donation, you can help fund Canada’s most promising research, vital support services for patients and their families, and other important work that could change the future of cancer.
I hope you’ll show your support, and help me reach my fundraising goal.
Thank you to everyone who participated in Relay At Home - it was a huge success! If you were unable to take part in the live event or if you want to relive the Relay magic, you can still watch it on Facebook. Our website will be accepting online donations until August 13. Keep fundraising to support the thousands of Canadians facing cancer during this time. Thank you for your support of the Canadian Cancer Society.
