I Relay in loving memory of my sister Lesha, who fought a long, hard battle with grace, dignity, optimism and courage. Lesha brought Relay to Burlington, spearheaded its inception, and worked hard to get it established and developed into a huge event. I was honoured to participate in two of her Relays, and attend the one after her death where she was celebrated and honoured. Lesha inspired my daughters to organize Relays at their high school, and go on to work on committees for community Relays in Windsor. As she did, they have branched out to help out in the battle in other ways too. Lesha continues to inspire and motivate, and will always remain safe in my heart where death cannot touch her.
Now, my niece Angie continues to fight and will, for the fourth time, walk the survivors' lap while facing treatments for MBC. She is determined to fight with everything she's got and we are determined to support her! We love you Angie Baby!
Sadly, our luminaries honour many friends and family. Cancer changes everything.
