I was 35 and pregnant with my third child when I found a lump, it was quickly dismissed as ‘mobile’ and was not too concerning, luckily when I was 41 weeks I put my trust in my gut and got a second opinion….that same day I went for an ultrasound followed by a mammogram, when I saw the look on the radiologist face I knew he was concerned.  The next day I gave birth to my third beautiful baby girl, when she was five days old I had a biopsy done on two lumps and one lymph node, 5 days later I found out I had breast cancer…..not only one type, but two types…..the ball rolled fast, faster than I could keep up - in September of 2020 I started my aggressive plan, 5 months of IV chemo, bi-lateral mastectomy, 5 weeks radiation, 6 months of at-home chemo, hysterectomy and ovariectomy, 3 years Zometa treatment, and 5 years of hormonal therapy.  Life is good when you have a plan!  I am currently just over the half way mark with the at-home chemo and I am so grateful for modern medicine which my body has graciously accepted.  I have been surrounded by amazing family and friends who have done nothing but cheered from the sidelines and supported my every step.  When life hands you lemons, go ahead and make the best dam lemonade you can!
