Every day, 70 Canadians will hear the words “you have breast cancer.”

On August 10th I rang the bell after an unexpected challenge with breast cancer this past spring and summer. My incredible family walked alongside me as I underwent surgery and treatment. I was blessed with brilliant and skilled doctors, nurses and staff at the Cross Cancer Institute who mapped out a plan for success for me, the Comprehensive Breast Cancer Program who made initial appointments and provided support with a nurse navigator and Wellspring for their varied programming for patients, survivors and caregivers. I am forever thankful to be healthy and moving forward!

On October 1st, I will be walking with Shumka Alumni Girls (S.A.G.) in the CIBC Run for the Cure. Please contribute what you can, every dollar makes a difference.
