Saskatoon: Eunice Cachene - CIBC Run for the Cure

Saskatoon

Eunice Cachene

Eunice Carrie Cachene was born on July 19, 1964 in Taber, Alberta to Ellen Cachene and her step-father, Lloyd Dunning. Eunice grew up in Dunblane, Saskatchewan and enjoyed music, dancing and playing volleyball. After high school, Eunice married Don Clark where they lived in Saskatoon. Fresh out of high school, Eunice eagerly attended the University of Regina and moved to Chile, South America, for a practicum experience for a period of six months. Eunice obtained her degree in social work and became a registered social worker. She worked through the years with the Government of Saskatchewan and ultimately became a mental health therapist, working with "Professional Psychologist Counselors (PPC)" in Saskatoon. Eunice loved the work she did, it touched so many people's lives and she had a beautiful caring spirit that was always ready to help and give to others. Eunice has two children, Josh and Kieran to whom she devoted her life to being the most patient, kind and loving mother.

Eunice loved to spend time with her mother Ellen. They would often visit and share a lot of laughter. One of their favourite things to do together was pick berries up north in the bush and celebrate at traditional gatherings and yearly "Folk-festing" with her mom. She loved to spend time with sister Leslie; Often you would find the two of them together at a concert, movie, festival or just out for a nice dinner on the town. She also loved to spend time with her nephews, Shawn, Kyle, William and great-nephew Kane, her niece, Brooklyn and her special friend Chris. Her cousins Jason, Aaron and Harley were a very important part of her life too.

Throughout her life, Eunice always enjoyed staying fit and healthy. In 2003, Eunice ran a marathon in Honolulu though "Joints in Motion". She loved to travel and had been to Florida (Disneyland) and Jamaica with Josh and Kieran. She also travelled to Mexico, Cuba, New York, Chicago, Reno and all over Canada.

Eunice also had an amazing group of friends who she loved and cherished dearly. She enjoyed her "trips with the girls" whether it was for a speedy get away to Calgary, a day of sledding, or a weekend off to the lake. She always looked forward to spending time with her friends.

Eunice always lived her life to the fullest. She was a beautiful, charismatic, adventurous person with a wonderful laugh and great sense of humour. Eunice passed away peacefully on June 20, 2022 after a 7-year battle with breast cancer. She will be missed dearly, but we know her spirit lives on in all those whose lives she touched.
