Metastatic Breast Cancer - Unicorn Magic

Thank you for visiting our site: Metastatic Breast Cancer - Unicorn Magic! We are the family and friends of Luba Lubenko who is living with metastatic breast cancer (MBC).

 

Our goal is to help raise awareness of MBC and raise money with the hope of finding more effective treatments and a cure. The funds raised by our team will be directed to the Canadian Cancer Society's Metastatic Future Funds.

About MBC:
Breast cancer becomes fatal as the cancer travels beyond the breast and lymph nodes to vital organs such as the liver, lungs, brain, bones and other locations. Researchers still do not understand why breast cancer metastasizes. Once the cancer has spread, it is known as Metastatic Breast Cancer or Stage IV Breast Cancer. People living with MBC will be on treatment for the rest of their lives. As one treatment stops working, the next will be used. Currently there are only so many treatments available to those with MBC. A cure has not yet been found.

Team Tent Awards

Your team can be recognized as one of the top 3 teams at your local CIBC Run for the Cure event! The top 3 teams who meet the minimum fundraising requirement of $7,500 by the deadline 10 p.m. PST on Monday, September 18, 2023, will receive their own team tent space. You can decorate the space, hang out there on Run Day and receive the VIP experience!

For offline funds to be counted towards these awards, the funds must be displayed online by the deadlines above. Bank stamped, offline forms can be sent to the Canadian Cancer Society via email to connect@cancer.ca or mailed to the address on the form. Processing times vary, but please allow a minimum of 3 weeks from receipt of the form by CCS to seeing offline fundraising reflected in your totals online.
