Maria's Maminhas

We are participating and fundraising for this year’s Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure on Sunday, October 1, 2023 in support of our mother, wife, sister, aunt and friend, Maria Igreja.

Maria was diagnosed with breast cancer in October 2022 following a routine mammogram. The months that followed were challenging to say the least, but Maria stayed strong, positive & resilient throughout it all. She really showed cancer who’s boss! In June 2023, Maria finally got to ring the bell after her final radiation treatment.

Join Maria and Team Maria’s Maminhas as we walk at Nathan Phillips Square on October 1st or donate to show your support.

With your help, we can reach our fundraising goal and fund groundbreaking breast cancer research and support programs for those impacted by this terrible disease. Let’s change the future of breast cancer together.

Team Tent Awards

Your team can be recognized as one of the top 5 teams at your local CIBC Run for the Cure event! The top 5 teams who meet the minimum fundraising requirement of $15,000 by the deadline 10 p.m. PST on Monday, September 18, 2023, will receive their own team tent space. You can decorate the space, hang out there on Run Day and receive the VIP experience!

For offline funds to be counted towards these awards, the funds must be displayed online by the deadlines above. Bank stamped, offline forms can be sent to the Canadian Cancer Society via email to connect@cancer.ca or mailed to the address on the form. Processing times vary, but please allow a minimum of 3 weeks from receipt of the form by CCS to seeing offline fundraising reflected in your totals online.
