EVeryday Heroes for a Cure

2018 was the year where everything changed.  All the hopes and dreams and how I envisioned my life and my family's life altered.  " You have breast cancer".  You see it happening to other women and for some reason you never think it will happen to you.   The next year was filled with appointments, surgery, chemotherapy and radiation.  Then the words that you have dreamt of hearing " You are cancer free".  The overwhelming joy you experience when ringing the bell and hitting the gong.

You continue your life with a renewed sense of gratitude.  Years go by and each year tests confirm that " you are still cancer free".   You exhale in relief.

In 2023, just a few months ago, I was having symptoms and scans were ordered.  To my horror, scans revealed bone mets.  Now my worst fear has come true.  Diagnosed with Stage 4 Metastatic Breast Cancer.  It takes a while to comprehend the gravity of this diagnosis.

Our team name, Everyday Heroes for a cure is so important.  We salute each and every woman who has battled breast cancer and has advanced treatment for the women that are currently under treatment and those in the future.  These Everyday heroes can be credited for the treatments that I am now able to access.  I am so grateful for this. Our goal is to raise as much funds as we can to contribute to the research for new and better treatments for women in the future.

Thank you for all the everyday heroes that give so selflessly.

Please consider joining us on October 1st or donating to our Everyday Heroes for the cure team!

Trust, Hope, and Take Action!
