One of my closest friends was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. One moment, she's dancing in the streets of Brazil, and the next, she's facing life-changing news. It’s a reminder that we never know what tomorrow will bring, but we do know the importance of embracing the present and living life to the fullest.

Having lost both my parents to cancer, this hits in a different way—when it happens to one of my bestfriends, the emotions are overwhelming. I've always supported cancer research, but this time I’m stepping it up by participating in the CIBC Run for the Cure, whether through running or walking.
