My story

I am running for my mom. I am here to share her story.

Elizabeth Logan, owned a hair salon called "Just Us Hair Design" with her business partner and friend, Fran Yeast. Her passion was helping people feel and look beautiful, and she never failed to put a smile on the faces of those she crossed paths with. 

At the young age of 42, her battle against breast cancer began, and she triumphantly overcame it after two years of determination and resilience. However, her life took another heartbreaking turn when she was diagnosed with brain cancer eight years later, ultimately passing away at the young age of 52. 

My mom was a remarkable woman that truely made an impact on those that she knew. Her legacy lives on through my daughters and  our family. 

Running to raise money for a cure is a meaningful way to honor her memory and contribute to the fight against cancer, ensuring that others may benefit from the research and a cute as they fight their own battle against this devastating disease.

An estimated 27,700 women and 260 men are diagnosed with breast cancer every year in Canada.

To show my support for all Canadians impacted by breast cancer, I am participating and fundraising for this year’s Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure on Sunday, October 1, 2023.

With your help, I can reach my fundraising goal and make a life-changing difference for so many people. Every dollar I raise will fund groundbreaking breast cancer research and support programs and services for those impacted by this disease.

P.S. Did you know? Fundraising $300 can fund help provide healthy home-cooked meals for guests at a Canadian Cancer Society lodge during their stay. Lodge guests receive wholesome foods like fresh fruits and vegetables, and meals customized to their dietary needs – including those arising from cancer treatment, like liquid and soft food diets.
