Another Run another year of survival and hope. 

Did you know that an estimated 27,700 women and 260 men are diagnosed with breast cancer every year in Canada. Here are the stats for 2024. 

• 30,500 Canadian women will be diagnosed with breast cancer. This represents 25% of all new cancer cases in women in 2024. 
• 5,500 Canadian women will die from breast cancer. This represents 13% of all cancer deaths in women in 2024. 
• There is a 20% increase of women diagnosed with breast cancer between age 29-40. Diagnosis like this  “tend to have later stage tumors” as screening starts at 40. 

These are scary stats especially if you have been diagnosed or have a close friend or family member that has been diagnosed.  

To show my support for all impacted by breast cancer, I am participating and fundraising for this year’s Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure on Sunday, October 2, 2022. 

 Every dollar I raise will fund groundbreaking breast cancer research and support programs and services for those impacted by this disease.
