My mom is a 2-time breast cancer survivor. First when I was 1 year old, and again when I was 19. Life without her is unimaginable. She has fought hard to be here and I'm so grateful. She has since devoted countless hours to volunteering with Wings of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation, a volunteer-run breast cancer support charity that supports womern and their families who have fallen on unthinkable financial adversity in the midst of their fight against cancer. I have seen how it's changed peoples' lives. I walk to be a small part of that change.

Many fight hard and lose their battles to cancer. I walk for my mom and for all the moms, sisters, aunts, counsins, daughters, friends, who aren't with us anymore. I walk for their families. I walk in the hopes of creating a world where breast cancer patients only get better, survival rates soar, and eventually, to the day that our collective efforts find a cure.
