Breast Cancer doesn’t care about demographics… it can happen to anyone at any time. In fact, 27,960 Canadian are diagnosed with breast cancer every year. I know this first hand, as my Aunt and three of my cousins were diagnosed with breast cancer. Following treatment, thankfully, they are all doing well, but it was a devastating struggle in so many ways. And while many, like my aunt and cousins, win their battles with breast cancer, there are far too many who don’t. Sadly, I have another aunt, my beautiful Aunt Cheryl, who did not win her battle. Cheryl passed away in 2021 and my family and her loved ones grieve her loss every day.

I’m running for my aunts, my cousins and for all Canadians impacted by breast cancer. Please help me and my coworkers at the Foothills Medical Centre Emergency Department (under the team name 9-1-Run) fundraise for this year’s Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure on Sunday, October 1, 2023.
