An estimated 27,700 women and 260 men are diagnosed with breast cancer every year in Canada.  The disease affects 1 in every 8 women.   

As an active and relatively fit person with no other health issues, my breast cancer diagnosis in June 2022 came as a complete surprise. In April 2023, after 10 months of treatments and over 50 hospital visits, I was cancer-free.  I'm immensely grateful to the skilled team of doctors and nurses at the Ottawa Hospital who managed this challenging journey with such care and kindness.  

To show my support for all Canadians impacted by breast cancer, and in memory of my friends Patty and Mike, I'm participating and fundraising for this year’s Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure in Calgary on Sunday, October 6, 2024.

Every dollar I raise will fund groundbreaking breast cancer research and support programs and services for those impacted by this disease.
