The year 2024 was supposed to be THE year. My mom was was finishing up the last of her lymphoma treatments, remission was so close. The hardest, most difficult time of my life, would become the absolute WORST 2 years of my life. 

When we moved to AB from BC in 2022, I was looking to meet some "mom friends". I posted in our neighbourhood Facebook group regarding Kindergarten for my son. That's when Sasha aka “Sash Money” responded to my FB post. From the first day of Kindergarten pick-up, we became instant besties! Same-same. Even getting matching tattoos 6 months after meeting! ALWAYS in constant laughter. You can’t help but have a great time with Sasha! With her kind soul and support, she became my rock during my mom's cancer diagnosis and treatment. I am truly lucky and incredibly blessed to randomly stumble upon Sasha. 

December of 2023, my nightmare became out of control. My wonderfully vibrant friend, my partner-in-crime, diagnosed with Stage 2b, triple negative invasive ductal carcinoma. This gorgeous wife, mum, daughter, sister, neighbour, friend. How could this happen to this incredible human at 33 years young. 

There was only one option- Sash was going to kick cancer’s ass, WWF style! Not only did she fight hard, she completely dominated! Even continuing her newly found passion, Spin class! Often going for 3 days following her weekly chemo. Like who does that!  Sasha went into complete beast mode through chemotherapy, losing her hair, removing her fab nails, countless blood draws, brutal IV insertions, endless appointments, constant anxiety, a couple Costco cakes, double mastectomy, post-op staph infection, recently starting immunotherapy and soon radiation. She literally NEVER stops, Ever! Sasha is not only my best friend, but literally my hero. Living this total nightmare with complete grace  and endless courage. Only Sasha, would continue to remain prioritizing those she loves and admirers. Always determined, you live your life truly fulfilled. I am so proud of what a bad ass Sasha has been during the darkest of days.
