This year, I'm participating in the Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure, and it's deeply personal for me. I run in memory of my mom, who passed away 26 years ago when so little was known about this terrible disease. I carry her memory with me every step of the way, hoping that the advances in research today can give others the chance that she didn't have.

I’m also running for my dear colleague who is currently battling cancer. Our entire clinic is coming together to show our support for her and for everyone affected by breast cancer.
