This summer, at the age of 38, 2 busy kids, and no ill symptoms, my friend Jennifer was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer.

Being in her 30’s, Jennifer is not within the bracket for regular mammograms. With advocation from friends, Jennifer preformed a self breast exam at the end of July where she felt something unusual. After going to the doctor and having multiple follow up appointments, the diagnosis was made less than a month later.

With 1 in 8 women getting diagnosed with breast cancer, we need to check ourself and advocate for our friends to do the same. If you’ve never preformed a self examination before, please do so today.

This year, I’m running the CIBC Breast Cancer Run for the Cure for Jennifer, for NanaMay (survivor) and for all current and future fighters. If you can, I’d love your support in any way. Below are a few ways you can help:
